Casco Antiguo Showcases Panama's Domestic Tourism with 'Tripea lo tuyo'

Panama City's historic Casco Antiguo transformed into a vibrant hub for domestic tourism on the last Sunday of the month, hosting another edition of 'Tripea lo tuyo.' This initiative actively promotes internal travel by spotlighting the rich cultural, gastronomic, and tourist attractions found across Panama's diverse provinces.

The event brought together tour operators, artisans, entrepreneurs, and cultural promoters at the Compañía de Jesús grounds. Attendees had the opportunity to discover destinations, experiences, and events that form part of Panama's natural and cultural heritage. Organizers emphasized the campaign's goal: to inspire Panamanians to journey through their own country and uncover hidden gems often overlooked by mainstream tourist circuits.

Representatives from popular destinations like Pedasí, Bocas del Toro, Chiriquí, and Panamá Oeste were present, offering insights into nature tourism, beach getaways, cultural immersion, and adventure activities. A notable highlight was the presentation of a children's book inspired by Playa Venado in Los Santos province, which uses a traveling owl character to introduce young readers to Panama's natural and cultural richness. Cultural promoters also used the platform to invite the public to the upcoming National Mejorana Festival, a significant folkloric event scheduled for September 19-28 in Guararé.

The 'Tripea lo tuyo' event coincided with the regular cultural programming that enlivens Casco Antiguo on the last Sunday of each month, filling its plazas, parks, and streets with artistic performances, music, dance, and expressions of Panamanian folklore. Visitors praised the family-friendly atmosphere and the chance to rediscover the historic San Felipe neighborhood, appreciating the wide array of cultural manifestations from different regions of the country.
