Tensions within the Sabatini family remain palpable, with Catherine Fulop offering a candid assessment of her relationship with sister-in-law Gabriela Sabatini. Two years after Gabriela's absence from niece Oriana Sabatini's wedding to Paulo Dybala highlighted a deep family rift, the situation shows little sign of healing.

Fulop recently spoke about Gabriela, stating that reconciliation is unlikely without direct communication. "The truth is, I don't even want to talk about her, or about that, because there has been no sign," Fulop said, adding, "I believe the people who love you and want to be with you are by your side." While she acknowledged that the recent birth of her granddaughter, Gia, has brought some family unity, it has not mended the relationship with Gabriela.

Despite the current distance, Fulop expressed a glimmer of hope for a future reconciliation. "I think so, I hope so. The truth is, it's always nice. But I think we have to talk first," she stated. The family conflict initially came to light when Gabriela Sabatini did not attend the July 2024 wedding of Oriana and Dybala. Various reasons for the dispute have been speculated, ranging from financial disagreements to disapproval of the tennis star's partner.
