CBOS: Most Poles dissatisfied with Donald Tusk as prime minister

Donald Tusk’s government improved its ratings in August, but most Poles still expressed dissatisfaction with both the government and the prime minister, according to a CBOS poll.

Thirty-two percent of respondents identified as supporters of Tusk’s government, up three percentage points from July. Forty percent opposed it, down eight points, while 24% said they were indifferent and 4% were undecided.

Views of the government’s performance also improved. Thirty-six percent assessed its work positively, a six-point increase, while 51% gave a negative assessment, seven points lower than in July. Thirteen percent had no opinion.

Asked specifically whether they were satisfied that Donald Tusk led the government, 36% answered positively, up five points, while 51% were dissatisfied, down seven points. On the economy, 36% said the government’s policies created prospects for improvement, compared with 50% who disagreed.

CBOS cautioned that the August improvement appeared to be mainly a correction after July’s fall. The poll surveyed 935 people from Aug. 20 to 30, using face-to-face, telephone and online interviews.
