Celebrity chef Jean Imbert detained in Paris over domestic violence allegations

Renowned French chef Jean Imbert has been placed in police custody in Paris as part of an ongoing investigation into domestic violence allegations. The inquiry, initiated in August 2025, centers on accusations made by three of his former partners.

Imbert, formerly the head chef at the Plaza Athénée, faces allegations of psychological and physical abuse. These claims first surfaced publicly in April 2025 when four women who had relationships with Imbert shared their experiences in ELLE magazine. Among them was Alexandra Rosenfeld, Miss France 2006, who detailed an incident where she claims Imbert fractured her nose during the filming of a television show they were co-hosting.

The legal proceedings were formally launched in August 2025 when former actress Lila Salet filed a complaint against Imbert, leading to the opening of the official investigation. His lawyers confirmed his detention on Monday, August 3rd, responding to media inquiries about the BFMTV report.
