Celebrity Kago Clarifies Cooking Oil Use Amid Food Safety Scare

Taiwanese celebrity Kago, whose real name is Chang Jui-lin, is proactively addressing public concerns about cooking oil safety. The 41-year-old performer, who currently sells chicken cakes in Taipei's Neihu Science Park, took to Facebook on the 13th to share information about the ingredients used in his stall.

Kago explained that he had been using "Taichung" brand soybean salad oil but immediately stopped when the company issued a precautionary recall due to a carcinogen scandal. He stated that any remaining stock would be returned. "From now on, our stall will consistently use 'De Yi De Yi' canola oil," he announced. He noted that this change results in a slightly moister texture, which he finds even more delicious. For his chicken cakes and milk-based drinks, he uses "Axiu" fresh milk, praising its quality and support for local farmers.

He emphasized his commitment to providing safe and quality food to his customers.
