Celtic sign Parma's Sorensen, with more to come before deadline

Celtic have signed Parma midfielder Oliver Sørensen on loan as the Scottish champions continue trying to strengthen their squad before the transfer deadlines.

There are some key positions that we still need a bit of work on in the next couple of days.

Assistant manager Shaun Maloney said the club could add up to four players. Celtic want another left-back to compete with Kieran Tierney and are also considering further midfield options. Maloney said the club needed a different profile in midfield, including more speed and power.

He also said Reo Hatate could move on. Maloney praised the Japan international, who has scored 33 goals in 191 Celtic appearances since joining in January 2022, and said the club would remember his contribution if he left.

Celtic must submit their Europa League squad by Wednesday at 23:59, while the Scottish transfer deadline falls on Thursday at 17:00 BST. Maloney said the club wanted potential signings available for European competition, with three or four positions receiving particular attention.
