Čėsna concludes term as NKL president

Arvydas Čėsna is stepping down as president of the URBO-NKL basketball league after a period marked by significant growth and development.

Under Čėsna's leadership, the league enhanced its visibility, strengthened ties with partners, and broadened its sponsor base, solidifying its presence in Lithuanian basketball. A key achievement was securing a new general partner, leading to the championship being branded as "URBO-NKL." The past two seasons also saw a notable increase in broadcasting reach, with all games available on LRT.lt and weekly matches broadcast on TV6, allowing fans nationwide to follow their teams more easily.

The league also introduced new initiatives during this time, including the inaugural S. Darius and S. Girėnas Cup games, adding to the league's traditions. Čėsna expressed his gratitude to the Lithuanian Basketball Association, the referees' association, municipalities, sponsors, teams, and fans for their trust and collaboration. He particularly thanked his team for their daily efforts in moving the league forward.
