Chania: Newly appointed teacher housed in a tent with her daughter

A newly appointed teacher who had been living in a tent with her four-year-old daughter in Chania has accepted an offer of temporary accommodation from the Municipality of Apokoronas.

The teacher had been staying at the Agioi Apostoloi campsite after failing to find a home in Chania. Following publicity surrounding her situation, Apokoronas Mayor Charalambos Kouki anakis contacted her and offered the use of the Vamou Girls’ School, a municipal building in the area where she has been appointed. She is expected to move there shortly.
