Chaos on American Airlines flight as passenger restrained and plane diverted

A flight from Dallas-Fort Worth to Newark descended into chaos after a passenger allegedly began shouting, insulting people and attacking those around him. Other passengers eventually overpowered him, and the crew restrained him with adhesive tape and plastic ties.

Witnesses cited by Fox News said the incident began about two hours after takeoff. The man allegedly shouted at the passenger seated beside him and spoke loudly about Jesus and going to hell. A cabin crew member approached him in an attempt to calm the situation.

Instead, the man allegedly directed a racist slur at the flight attendant and shouted homophobic remarks. The confrontation then turned physical, with the passenger allegedly striking the person seated next to him. A female passenger tried to help but was reportedly pushed away.

Three other passengers then intervened and managed to subdue the man. The aircraft did not continue to its planned destination and diverted to Baltimore. After landing, police took the passenger into custody. He reportedly remained restrained with tape and plastic ties for the rest of the flight to prevent him from endangering others on board.
