Chayanne, Gilberto Santa Rosa join benefit concert for Venezuela earthquake victims

Miami will host a star-studded benefit concert on August 16, featuring Puerto Rican icons Chayanne and Gilberto Santa Rosa, alongside a lineup of Venezuelan and Hispanic artists. The event, organized by the coalition Unidos por Venezuela, aims to raise crucial funds for those affected by the devastating double earthquake that struck Venezuela on June 24.

The concert, set to take place at the Kaseya Center, will include performances by Venezuelan artists like Corina Smith, Chino y Nacho, Micro TDH, Noreh, Jerry Di, Jonathan Moly, Joaquina, Nella, and Jorge Luis Chacín. They will be joined by artists with Hispanic roots such as Isadora and Manu Manzo from the United States. This follows the initial announcement of performers including Marc Anthony, Ricardo Montaner, and Feid.

Unidos por Venezuela reported that donations can be made through various platforms and QR codes during the event. The concert will also feature reports on rescue efforts, on-the-ground aid work, and testimonies from those impacted by the catastrophe, aiming to highlight the scale of the disaster. The earthquake, with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5, primarily affected Caracas and La Guaira, resulting in at least 5,398 deaths and 16,740 injuries, according to official Venezuelan authorities.

The collected funds will be administered by recognized international humanitarian organizations to address the evolving needs throughout the recovery phases. The event seeks to channel global support towards Venezuela's rebuilding efforts.
