Check your dog's pedigree with a mobile app: NICE Petpin launches digital pedigree service

NICE Information Service, through its pet service NICE Petpin, has partnered with the Korea Kennel Federation to introduce a new 'Dog Certificate - Mobile Pedigree' service. Launched officially on August 27th, this digital solution allows dog owners to easily access and manage their pet's lineage information directly on their smartphones via the NICE i-PIN app.

The service digitizes the traditional paper pedigree certificates issued by the Korea Kennel Federation. This move addresses the common issues of lost or damaged documents, providing owners with a secure and convenient way to view their dog's profile, including details about its parents and ancestors. Existing registered pedigree holders can link their certificates to the app without any extra fees.

For dogs without a pedigree, the app facilitates the application process. Owners can input the necessary information, and the Korea Kennel Federation will conduct a screening before issuing a new mobile pedigree. These digital certificates can serve as identification at Kennel Federation events and aid in managing breeding plans and other related aspects.

Industry analysts suggest this initiative goes beyond simple document digitization. By combining the mobile infrastructure of a financial and identity verification company with the specialized data of a kennel organization, the service significantly improves the accessibility of dog identification. NICE Petpin's existing features, such as AI-based nose print recognition and easy lookup of animal registration numbers, combined with this new digital pedigree data, lay the groundwork for future applications in areas like simplifying pet insurance enrollment and managing customized healthcare and adoption records.
