Chef Sam Kim struggles as kitchen apprentice in Italy on 'Undercover Chef'

Renowned chef Sam Kim faces a challenging new role as the lowest-ranking member of a traditional Italian kitchen. In the latest episode of the tvN entertainment program 'Undercover Chef,' Kim, alongside chefs Jeong Ji-seon and Kwon Sung-jun, embarks on their first day of service while concealing their true identities.

Having previously posed as a former farmer, boxer, and baseball player, the chefs now dive into the demanding tasks of kitchen apprentices. Sam Kim finds himself in a century-old restaurant in Parma, Italy, where the sheer volume of orders and the unfamiliar kitchen systems overwhelm him. "Honestly, I don't know what to do," he confessed, highlighting his struggle to adapt.

Kim was given the opportunity to make the restaurant's signature fresh pasta, 'tortelli.' However, his attempt was deemed unsuitable for customers by his superior, leading to the pasta being discarded. A visibly embarrassed Kim apologized profusely. The show's producers emphasized the real struggles faced by top chefs as they navigate the intense pressure and hierarchy of authentic, high-volume kitchens, testing their skills under tight deadlines.
