Former legislator Cheng Yun-peng's son, "Dede," gained significant attention during the 2024 election campaign for accompanying his father. His youthful and handsome appearance earned him praise from Korean media as the "Taiwanese Cha Eun-woo." After opening an Instagram account, he amassed 280,000 followers in just five days.

Lawyer Lin Chih-chiun recently shared an anecdote about a photo featuring Cheng Yun-peng and his son. While many assumed it was just a father-son picture, Lin revealed there were three people in the frame. The "passerby" next to them was identified as Huang Shih-chieh, the Democratic Progressive Party's candidate for Taoyuan mayor in the current election.

Actually, there were three people in that photo. Beside them was a passerby named Huang Shih-chieh. Who is Huang Shih-chieh? He is the candidate for Taoyuan mayor nominated by the DPP this time.

Lin explained that Huang Shih-chieh is far from an ordinary passerby. He is a graduate of National Taiwan University's law department, a senior to DPP legislator Shen Po-yang, holds a law master's degree from Columbia University, and ranked first in the bar exam. He has also served as a legislator and deputy minister of justice.

Lin commented on the evolving perception of the DPP, noting that some "old blue camp" individuals still hold the impression of the party as disorganized and uneducated. However, he argued that the DPP's talent pool has significantly improved over the years. After nearly a decade in power, the party has cultivated a group of capable administrative talents, a stark contrast to its earlier days when it reportedly needed to borrow personnel from the Kuomintang during former President Chen Shui-bian's administration.
