Chery Sells 20 Million Cars, Exports One Every 17 Seconds

Chery has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing 20 million cumulative vehicle sales and marking itself as the first Chinese automotive group to reach this figure. The company celebrated this achievement with the sale of its 20 millionth vehicle, an electric sedan named Fulwin A9. This model holds symbolic importance, echoing Chery's early production and export efforts.

The automaker's rapid expansion is further highlighted by its export performance. In the first half of 2026, Chery exported nearly 944,000 vehicles, a 71.5% increase year-on-year. This surge in international sales means a Chery vehicle leaves China for an overseas market approximately every 17 seconds. For 23 consecutive years, Chery has also held the title of China's largest passenger car exporter, with its vehicles now available in over 130 countries and regions.

Beyond vehicle sales, Chery is actively developing its automotive ecosystem. The company is investing in its own hybrid systems, connected car technologies, and in-house solutions. Chery International operates eight global research and development centers and 36 production facilities, supported by a network of over 2,000 dealerships and a global workforce of around 150,000 employees, with over 20,000 working outside China.

Chery's growth is also reflected in its global rankings. Chery Holding Group climbed 152 positions to secure the 233rd spot in the Fortune Global 500 for 2025, reporting revenues of $39.1 billion for 2024. This ascent underscores the company's increasing influence and success in the international automotive market.
