Chia Yi Good Deeds Group Donates Bus to Enhance Rescue Team's Mobility

The Chia Yi Chia Yi Good Deeds Group has once again demonstrated its commitment to public safety by donating a 21-seat bus to the Chiayi City Fire Department's special search and rescue team. This latest contribution, following their 2018 donation of the "Good Deeds" patrol vehicle, aims to significantly enhance the team's operational efficiency and personnel well-being.

The special search and rescue team has long shouldered the tasks of major disaster rescue and cross-regional support. Whether it is an earthquake, typhoon, or major accident scene, they are the first to enter the rescue work.

During the donation ceremony at the Chiayi City Hall, Mayor Huang Min-hui accepted the bus from Chia Yi Chia Yi Good Deeds Group Chairperson Cheng Hsiu-yu. The mayor highlighted the crucial role of the special search and rescue team in responding to major disasters and providing inter-regional support. She emphasized that the new bus would not only improve the team's mobility but also reduce fatigue and driving risks during extended deployments, allowing rescuers to operate with greater stamina and focus.

Chairperson Cheng Hsiu-yu stated that the group's mission, guided by the spirit of "building bridges, repairing roads, aiding the poor, and providing coffins," extends to supporting frontline emergency services. She acknowledged the perilous environments faced by search and rescue personnel and expressed the group's desire to combine community efforts to continuously back firefighting efforts. This donation, she added, signifies the group's dedication to public safety and its unwavering commitment.
