Chiayi City Launches $3.15 Bus Tours for End-of-Summer Exploration

As the summer vacation nears its end, Chiayi City in Taiwan is offering a unique way to explore its attractions: a 100-dollar bus tour. The "Chill Tour Chiayi. Take the Bus to Walk Around Chiayi!" series includes 10 sessions, with weekday tours priced at just NT$100 (approximately $3.15 USD).

Participants will ride the "Taiwan Tourist Shuttle - Guanglin Jiayi Line" and be guided through the city's streets and alleys. The tours aim to showcase Chiayi's cultural heritage and distinctive landmarks from various perspectives. The city's Department of Transportation highlighted that these tours, divided into weekday and weekend options, connect key tourist spots via public transport, eliminating the need for participants to drive or search for parking.

Weekday tours, scheduled for August 27-28 and September 3-4, offer morning and afternoon routes. The morning tour from Chiayi Railway Station visits the Chiayi City God Temple and Chiayi Literature Source. The afternoon tour heads to Hinoki Village and the Museum of the Meiji Shrine.

Weekend tours on August 29 and September 5 include a morning trip from Chiayi Railway Station to the National Chiayi University Insect Museum, costing NT$199 (approximately $6.25 USD) per person. These are particularly suited for families and those interested in ecological exploration.

Registration for the tours is now open via the "ACCUPASS" event page. Each session is limited to 20 participants, and spots are expected to fill quickly.

The city government's Department of Transportation stated that the activities are divided into two major themes, "Weekday Small Tours" and "Weekend Small Tours." Through the connection of public transportation, participants can avoid the trouble of driving themselves and finding parking spaces, and discover a different side of Chiayi from familiar streetscapes.
