Chiayi County Athletes Shine at National Middle School Games, Doubling Prize Money

Chiayi County's athletes have achieved remarkable success at the National Middle School Athletic Games, bringing home a total of 29 medals, including 2 gold, 7 silver, and 20 bronze. This outstanding performance not only surpasses last year's medal count but also highlights the dedication and talent nurtured within the county's educational institutions.

The county government, demonstrating its strong support for athletic development, has doubled the prize money for this year's medalists. Gold medal winners will now receive NT$200,000, a significant increase aimed at further motivating young athletes. The total prize money distributed amounts to NT$4.56 million, reflecting a substantial investment in celebrating and encouraging athletic achievement.

Notable performances include Zhuang Yuqiao from Dongshi High School, who secured his third consecutive gold medal in the Greco-Roman wrestling 10th grade for high school boys, and Huang Luoyi from Puzi Junior High School, who won gold in the freestyle 5th grade for junior high girls. These achievements underscore the strength of Chiayi County's wrestling and swimming programs.
