Chiayi County Sees Drop in Lowest Exam Scores; Student Achieves Top Marks

Chen Junyi, a student at Puzi Junior High School, has achieved outstanding results in this year's national junior high school examination (Hui Kao), scoring 5A10+ and a level 5 essay. Her success is attributed to a disciplined and independent study habit, cultivated from a young age due to her parents' rotating work schedules. Chen focused on correcting mistakes, clarifying concepts, and maintaining a consistent routine to ensure optimal performance during exams.

In Chiayi County, the overall performance showed improvement, with the percentage of students scoring 5C or below decreasing by 2.5%. The County Government's Education Department highlighted its ongoing efforts to introduce resources from private organizations, including free evening study sessions, to support students. This initiative aims to foster diverse development and adaptive learning, enabling students to create their own life paths.

The report also features other students who achieved high marks despite facing economic hardships. Lin Yujun, the eldest daughter in a low-income family whose father is unable to work due to injury, relied on classroom learning and participated in free evening study programs to maintain her academic standing. Similarly, Zeng Ruiteng, from a financially struggling family, also opted out of private tutoring and utilized evening study sessions, seeking immediate clarification from teachers on any questions he had.

Liu Yanling and Chen Xuantong, students specializing in soft tennis in the sports program at Dalin Junior High School, received a level 6 essay score. Their teachers encouraged them to learn and perceive experiences during competitions, translating these insights into unique reflections in their writing. The success of these students, particularly those from challenging backgrounds, demonstrates the effectiveness of focused learning and accessible support systems.

The County Government says that this year the proportion of students in Chiayi County scoring 5C decreased by 2.5%, and in the future will continue to introduce private resources to open evening study sessions, and will also help students develop diversely and learn adaptively, creating their own life stage.
