Chihuahua mayor presents fifth government report with Governor Maru Campos in attendance

Governor Maru Campos joined Chihuahua Mayor Marco Bonilla for the presentation of his fifth government report, where he highlighted the results achieved in the state capital.

The event took place at the Expo Chihuahua Convention Center. Campos emphasized continuity between the governments they have led, saying Bonilla had taken on the municipality’s causes and challenges during his first term from 2021 to 2024 and continued that work during the 2024-2027 period.

The governor said the capital’s results had made Chihuahua a reference point amid the challenges facing Mexico, particularly in security. “While fear bent every will in the rest of the country, Chihuahua rose with courage to stand up to it,” Campos said.

She urged the mayor not to give up or bend, and called on him to continue working jointly with the state government on the challenges ahead. Bonilla thanked Campos for her backing and advice during his administration. He said he would continue working to generate more investment, employment, security, development and competitiveness for Chihuahua’s residents.

“Thank you for being an ally. As mayor, you left us solid foundations, and as governor you have respected our work and been there when families needed it. Today I can tell you: we are taking care of Chihuahua,” Bonilla said.

The event was attended by state judicial and legislative leaders, Defense Ministry officials, local lawmakers, business representatives and civil society figures. Coahuila Governor Manolo Jiménez, federal lawmaker Kenia López Rabadán, Cuauhtémoc Mayor Alessandra Rojo de la Vega, former Senate president Santiago Creel Miranda, former presidential candidate Xóchitl Gálvez and PAN national president Jorge Romero also attended.
