Child dies after being crushed by moving truck in South Korea

A young child has died in Cheonan, South Korea, after being crushed by a moving truck. The 7-year-old was critically injured when the truck overturned while parked at an apartment complex. He was rushed to the hospital but passed away the next day.

The incident happened around 8:38 a.m. on the previous day. The truck was reportedly setting up its ladder to move furniture to the 11th floor of the 28-story building when it suddenly toppled over. The child sustained severe head injuries.

Authorities have arrested the truck's 50-year-old driver and a 20-year-old foreign national. Police are seeking arrest warrants for the two individuals on charges including professional negligence resulting in death. The foreign national was identified as an undocumented immigrant. The driver initially provided a false statement to police, claiming he was the one operating the truck, in an attempt to conceal the immigrant's status. He now faces additional charges for harboring an undocumented person.
