Child dies after being hit by car at Abbotsford townhouse complex

A child has died following a tragic incident in Abbotsford, British Columbia, where they were hit by a car within a townhouse complex. The collision occurred around 12:45 p.m. on August 13, 2026, in the 32000 block of Simon Avenue.

Abbotsford police were called to the scene in the complex's parking lot. Despite immediate efforts by witnesses and first responders to provide aid, the child succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Authorities have not yet released details regarding the child's age.
