Children's development and entertainment center 'Balastan' to open in Talas

The city of Talas is on the cusp of a significant new development with the near-complete construction of the 'Balastan' children's center for development and entertainment. Ermath Jumayev, the presidential envoy for Talas Oblast, reported that 95 percent of the construction is finished. The project, which began in autumn 2025 with the laying of a time capsule by the head of state, is poised to become a major hub.

Spanning an impressive 6.5 hectares, the 'Balastan' complex comprises nine buildings. It is designed to be a multifaceted center, incorporating modern attractions, specially designed playgrounds for children with disabilities, a cinema, a congress hall, bowling alleys, food service facilities, and areas for creative and intellectual growth. Notably, the center plans to deploy robot guides that will assist visitors in the Kyrgyz language, enhancing the visitor experience.

After the facility is put into operation, more than 200 new jobs will be created, which will make a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the region.

The opening of 'Balastan' is anticipated to provide a substantial boost to the region's socio-economic landscape. Over 200 new jobs are expected to be created upon its operational launch. The center's official inauguration is planned for September 11-12, coinciding with the grand celebrations of the 35th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's independence, with the head of state expected to attend.
