Children's Play 'The Adventure of Toad Spirit' Debuts in Xinfeng on August 1

Hsinchu County, Taiwan, is set to host a special performance of "The Adventure of Toad Spirit" by the renowned Fengshen Baobao Children's Theater Troupe on August 1. The event, part of the "Zhufeng County Arts" traditional opera series, will take place at the Mingxin Kangle parking lot in Xinfeng Township.

The Fengshen Baobao troupe, a youth division of the Ming Hwa Yuan traditional opera company, is known for its innovative approach. They blend the traditional melodies of Gezaixi opera with lively elements of modern children's theater, earning widespread acclaim from audiences of all ages. This performance aims to bring top-tier traditional opera performances to various townships within the county.

Fengshen Baobao Children's Theater Troupe is not only the youth army of the domestic traditional opera leader Ming Hwa Yuan, but also claims to be the first children's theater troupe in Taiwan to combine traditional opera with local culture.

"The Adventure of Toad Spirit" is part of the troupe's "Reading Taiwan" series. The story draws inspiration from local legends of Toad Mountain and Immortal's Rest in Taipei. It follows the characters as they lose their powers and embark on a journey to find the "terrifying Toad Spirit." During their quest, they discover that the ostracized Toad Spirit is merely lonely due to its appearance and lack of companionship.
