Chile celebrates Vinyl Day with focus on 7-inch single revival

Santiago, Chile will host the fifth annual Vinyl Day on Saturday, August 15th, at the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center (GAM). This event celebrates the enduring appeal of vinyl records and aims to rediscover the value of music in its classic physical format.

A significant highlight of this year's celebration is the revival of Chilean production for the 7-inch single, a format historically important for the music industry. The event will feature a fair showcasing independent record stores, labels, and music projects. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in workshops, discover exclusive releases and reissues, and interact with prominent figures from the Chilean music scene.

Among the featured artists participating in record signing sessions are Mauricio Durán from the renowned band Los Bunkers, Fernando Milagros, Simón Campusano, Protistas, Congreso, and Gondwana. The event, organized by the Universidad de Santiago de Chile's label Aula Records, promises a full day dedicated to music enthusiasts.

Vinyl Day 2026 will take place in the Central Plaza of the GAM from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Admission to the event is completely free, making it accessible to a wide audience eager to explore the world of vinyl and connect with the local music community.
