Chile to Host Major Mountain Bike Race 'Carlo de Gavardo' La Vacada

The commune of Paine is set to host the 12th edition of the "Carlo de Gavardo" La Vacada mountain bike event on Sunday, August 30. This competition has established itself as the most massive cycling event in Chile and ranks as the third largest in Latin America, drawing significant attention from both domestic and international riders.

The race will commence at 8:00 AM local time from the Estadio Caupolicán in Huelquén. Participants will navigate a circuit designed to accommodate various skill levels, featuring four distinct categories. The initial segment spans 15 kilometers, followed by an intermediate 25-kilometer stretch.

For those seeking a greater challenge, the advanced 45-kilometer course is reserved for high-performance athletes. Additionally, a specific category is available for electric bicycles, covering a distance of 34 kilometers. This variety ensures that cyclists of different abilities can partake in the event.

Organized by Tomás and Matteo de Gavardo, along with former cyclist Eduardo Sáenz, the event anticipates the participation of cyclists from 15 different countries. Registration channels are now open for interested individuals eager to compete in this renowned mountain biking spectacle.
