Chilean taxi driver murders Venezuelan ex-partner, leaves skull at cemetery, then kills himself

A Chilean taxi driver, 58, murdered his ex-partner, Jennifer Alejandra Urbina Rodríguez, a Venezuelan national. He then transported her skull to the San Miguel de Azapa Cemetery in Arica, northern Chile, before committing suicide in his home on August 13.

Forensic analysis by the Investigations Police (PDI) confirmed that bone fragments found on a tomb on August 5 belonged to Urbina Rodríguez, 42, who had been missing since August 1. The Regional Prosecutor's Office also found blood samples in the suspect's home.

Regional Prosecutor Mario Carrera Guerrero stated that the alleged perpetrator had a romantic relationship with the victim. Authorities determined that the woman was last seen alive on August 1, getting into the suspect's taxi. The couple reportedly entered the man's residence by car. The following day, the man left the property alone.

Urbina Rodríguez's family reported her missing on August 3. Police are continuing efforts to locate the victim's remains.
