China Coastal Regions on High Alert as Typhoon Saudel Approaches

Coastal regions of China, specifically Zhejiang and Fujian provinces, are under high alert as Typhoon Saudel intensifies and moves closer to landfall. The approaching storm has already disrupted travel, prompting widespread flight cancellations and ferry suspensions.

In Taiwan, 16 flights were cancelled at Taoyuan International Airport early Wednesday morning as Saudel traversed the East China Sea. Airlines including Peach, China Airlines, EVA Air, Starlux, and Thai Lion Air reported affected services. Hong Kong also saw full cancellations from Hong Kong Airlines, indicating the storm's significant impact on regional air travel.

Authorities are closely monitoring Saudel's trajectory and strength, preparing for potential heavy rainfall, strong winds, and storm surges. The alert signifies a proactive measure to mitigate risks and ensure public safety as the typhoon is expected to make landfall on Wednesday.
