China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway: New Land Allocated in Ak-Talaa

Land reclassification is underway in Kyrgyzstan's Ak-Talaa district to support the ambitious China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project. Specifically, 3.36 hectares of land in the Ala-Buga rural area of Naryn region have been moved from the 'agricultural land' category to 'settlement land.' This decision was formalized by a decree signed by Cabinet Chairman Adylbek Kasymaliev.

The primary goal of this land transfer is to provide citizens with equivalent land parcels as compensation for the land acquired for the railway's construction. The district's state administration is tasked with updating land records, developing urban planning documentation, ensuring proper land use, and implementing systems for rainwater and snowmelt drainage.

Furthermore, measures to ensure seismic safety, environmental protection, and fire safety are mandated. In instances where historical or cultural heritage sites are discovered during construction, archaeologists will be involved to oversee activities. The railway's construction officially commenced in December 2024, with the Kyrgyz segment planned to run from Torugart via Makmal to Jalal-Abad, linking the rail networks of China and Uzbekistan.
