My cat loves me when she is hungry. She is hungry often, in fact, every day.

Quite a few Grosuplje streams have flowed by since one of those animals that spend most of their lives asleep became an honorary member of our family. She is an independent, sometimes irritatingly clawed creature, with extraordinary reflexes and a talent for racing around when awake.

She is most ours during the cold months, when she sleeps inside the house. The rest of the time, she follows her own path. I do not know the secret of her primary drive, because, with our consent, the people in white coats took away her chance of becoming a mother.

My cat loves me when she is hungry. I provide, roughly, 90 percent of the work of filling her stomach and 100 percent of the money. I measure out her portions in the Gorenjska manner, but she knows how to manage, including by visiting the neighbors.
