Chivas Cruise Past Atlético San Luis to Extend Unbeaten Run to Six Apertura Matches

Chivas are beginning to look like the team their supporters had grown accustomed to seeing. Just in time for the final stretch of the tournament, Guadalajara produced a commanding 3-0 victory over Atlético San Luis at the Estadio Libertad Financiera.

The Rebaño swept forward from the opening whistle and needed less than 10 minutes to establish a two-goal lead. Andrés Sánchez turned the ball into his own net in the sixth minute after Santiago Sandoval’s shot struck the post and rebounded off his back. Three minutes later, Ricardo Marín finished a fine move to score his fourth goal of the tournament.

From there, Chivas controlled the match with heavy pressure, defensive solidity and, above all, clinical finishing. Atlético San Luis struggled to create a response, while Raúl Rangel was never placed under serious threat. As the game progressed, a third Chivas goal appeared more likely than a home-team comeback.

Richard Ledezma completed the victory in the 80th minute with a spectacular finish, only 19 minutes after entering the match. The score could have been even wider, and Gabriel Milito continued demanding intensity from his players as they searched for another goal.

After an uncertain start to the campaign, Chivas have now gone six rounds without defeat. Their fourth win of the Apertura keeps them close to fierce rivals América and strengthens the impression that Guadalajara is emerging as a serious contender for the title.
