Cho Ye-eun, who lost her team sponsorship, delivered a stunning upset by defeating Sruong Pheavy in the round of 64 at the 2026-2027 PBA-LPBA Championship. Cho won decisively, 25-12 in 16 innings, showcasing a strong early performance with runs of 4 and 5 points in the first two innings, and a 5-point run in the seventh.

Her average of 1.563 in the round of 64 was the highest among all players. Cho, who debuted in the 2021-2022 season, was previously with SK Rent-a-Car. After the team disbanded, she entered the draft but was not selected, failing to join a team league.

Despite these setbacks, Cho has shown remarkable determination, causing the biggest upset of the round of 64 and advancing to the round of 32. She is scheduled to face Jeon Ji-yeon on the 29th. Other strong contenders like Kim Ga-young, Kim Min-a, and Kim Se-yeon also secured their spots in the round of 32, while notable players like Im Rae-mi and Jung Soo-bin were eliminated.

The tournament's official opening ceremony is scheduled for the 28th at 12:30 PM, followed by the men's round of 128 and the first day of the women's round of 32 matches.
