CHP Hisarcık District Organization Defects to YENİ Parti

The Republican People's Party (CHP) in Turkey is facing a wave of defections following the establishment of the YENİ Parti. In Hisarcık, a district in Kütahya province, the entire local party organization, led by District Chairman Recep Önlü, has resigned from the CHP to join the new political movement.

Önlü expressed deep dissatisfaction with the current CHP leadership, particularly criticizing party officials for their perceived detachment from the party's base. "We have struggled in the countryside under difficult conditions," Önlü stated, questioning the engagement of figures like Ali Fazıl Kasap, a party official. He challenged Kasap on his visits to the district since his election, asking, "Which of our weddings did you attend? Which of our funerals did you join?"

Önlü declared that the mass resignation was not an administrative decision but a grassroots movement driven by the people. He asserted that the CHP's leadership had effectively blocked the party's path to power.
