CHP Provincial Head Announces: 'Absolute Nullity Team Entered Our Provincial Building by Breaking Down Doors'

The provincial headquarters of the Republican People's Party (CHP) in Gaziantep was forcibly entered overnight, with its doors and shutters broken, according to Vakkas Acar, the CHP's provincial chairman. Acar announced the incident via social media, sharing a video of the damaged building.

The break-in reportedly occurred around 11:30 p.m., approximately half an hour after the CHP had temporarily suspended its ongoing "Democracy Watch" protest. Acar stated that the protest was paused to ensure that students and their families would not experience stress or disruption during the university entrance exams scheduled for the following day.

"We could not have imagined they could be so heartless," Acar said in a statement, referring to the perpetrators. He expressed shock that the "absolute nullity team" and their associates would break into the party's building so late at night, describing it as an act of "heartlessness."

Today at 23:00, we paused the Democracy Watch due to our children's YKS exam tomorrow. We wanted our children, who have worked for years to prepare for this exam, to participate with peace of mind and without any stress. However, we could not have calculated that the 'absolute nullity team' and their extensions here, who have gone this far, would break down the doors of our father's home, the party of the founder of this country, at 23:30 at night. We did not think they could be so heartless.

The CHP has announced that they will hold a gathering in front of the provincial building at Maarif Square at 2:00 p.m. the following day, after the university exams have concluded. Acar extended an invitation to all democrats in the city to join them in responding to what they described as an "unjust" and "heartless" act.
