Church transformed into art gallery with apple stained glass

The former Jesuit Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary in Litoměřice has been repurposed as a striking venue for contemporary art. The North Bohemian Gallery of Fine Arts is showcasing "Landscape without a Landscape," an exhibition featuring works by students, graduates, and faculty from the University of Jan Evangelista Purkyně (UJEP) in Ústí nad Labem.

The monumental baroque interior of the church provides a unique backdrop for the diverse artistic expressions. The exhibition aims to highlight the creative output of the region's emerging and established artists, transforming the sacred space into a dynamic gallery.

Curator Adéla Machová described the church's gallery space as a "beautiful challenge." The exhibition offers visitors a chance to experience art within an architecturally significant historical setting, blending religious heritage with modern artistic vision. The show will be open to the public until September 27.
