Lithuanian officials have reacted positively to the recent visit of CIA Director John Ratcliffe to Moscow, interpreting it as a strong signal of American commitment to regional security.

I believe that for Lithuania, this visit is, I won't hide the word, beneficial in some respects.

Remigijus Motuzas, who chairs the Lithuanian parliamentary committee on foreign affairs, described the visit as "beneficial for Lithuania," particularly in light of reports concerning potential Russian attacks on critical infrastructure within NATO member states. He emphasized that while there is no immediate military threat, the visit underscores the need for enhanced protection of vital infrastructure.

Laurynas Kasčiūnas, leader of the opposition and a member of parliament, echoed this sentiment, stating that the trip signifies that "Americans care about Lithuania's security." He views the visit as a reassuring sign that the U.S. remains invested in the safety of Lithuania and the broader region.

According to reports, Ratcliffe's visit aimed to warn Russia against attempts to attack NATO countries, with a particular focus on the Baltic states.
