Cincinnati Masters 1000: Semifinal Lineups Set for Men's and Women's Singles

The men's singles draw at the 2026 Cincinnati Masters 1000 has been set for the semifinals, featuring a compelling lineup of rising stars and established players. Italian Flavio Cobolli, currently ranked 10th, advanced by defeating American Tommy Paul 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. Cobolli is seeking his first Masters 1000 title after a strong year that saw him enter the Top 10 and reach the French Open final.

He will face France's Arthur Fils, ranked 21st, who convincingly beat Thiago Tirante of Argentina 6-3, 6-2. Fils has had a successful season, including a title in Barcelona and semifinals in Miami and Rome, and aims to continue his strong performance in Cincinnati.

The other half of the men's draw pits American Brandon Nakashima (22nd) against his compatriot Frances Tiafoe (23rd). Nakashima caused an upset by eliminating the higher-ranked Taylor Fritz (9th) with a 7-6 (9), 4-6, 6-3 victory. Nakashima has reached finals in Montreal and Brisbane this year, alongside multiple semifinal appearances.

Tiafoe secured his spot by defeating Italy's Lorenzo Musetti 7-6 (2), 7-5. While he has yet to win a Masters 1000 event, Tiafoe was a finalist at the Cincinnati Open in 2024. In the women's draw, world No. 5 Iga Swiatek advanced due to an injury withdrawal from Elena Rybakina. Jessica Pegula (3rd) defeated Amanda Anisimova 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (4), while Sara Bejlek continued her surprising run by beating Madison Keys 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5). Coco Gauff also advanced, setting up intriguing semifinal clashes.
