"City of Artists" Reunited with Art: TeosFest 2026 Begins

İzmir's "slow city" district of Seferihisar is set to host the second "TeosFest 2026" cultural and art festival from August 1-8. Organized by the Cultural and Ecological Life Protection Association (KültürEkoloji) with support from the Seferihisar Municipality, the festival aims to celebrate the region's rich cultural heritage.

Drawing inspiration from the ancient city of Teos, which was once home to the Dionysus Artists' Union approximately 2,300 years ago, the festival will offer a diverse program. Attendees can expect multidisciplinary events spanning music, cinema, theater, literature, visual arts, science, and nature.

Key highlights include the "TeosFest Short Film Days," showcasing independent short films, alongside director talks and workshops exploring the use of artificial intelligence in film and music production. The music program features a special session with artist Erkan Oğur titled "Music and Before," as well as performances by various artists and groups like Mutlu Servet Badem and the Agapi Ensemble.

Beyond the arts, the festival emphasizes environmental and nature awareness. Activities for children include science and literature days, stargazing events, and creative workshops. For adults, there will be a coastal clean-up at Akarca Beach and visits to animal shelters, organized in collaboration with local NGOs and initiatives. All events are free and open to the public, reflecting the collective effort of many organizations and volunteers.
