Classic Cars to Feature in Paraguay's WRC Rally Fiesta

The Club de Vehículos Antiguos del Paraguay (CVAP) is set to make a significant appearance at the WRC Rally of Paraguay 2026 in Itapúa, bringing approximately 35 historic, antique, classic, and sports vehicles to the event. This participation aims to bridge Paraguay's automotive roots with one of the nation's most prominent sporting spectacles.

The Club de Vehículos Antiguos del Paraguay (CVAP) will have a prominent presence in the activities accompanying the WRC Rally of Paraguay 2026 in Itapúa, with around 35 vehicles among historic, antique, classic, and sports cars.

The CVAP's involvement begins on Wednesday with the pilots' parade at 6:00 PM in the Service Park, where about 13 vehicles will accompany the WRC competitors in an early public engagement. Additionally, 20 museum-quality historical vehicles will be on display, offering attendees a chance to admire machines that represent various eras of Paraguayan motorsport.

A highlight will be the exhibition on Saturday, starting at 4:00 PM, along the Encarnación waterfront at Paseo Los Teros. This area will serve as the main stage for these classic cars to showcase their presence before the super special stage. Among the attractions will be a historic 1976 Toyota Celica and the iconic Ford Escort, vehicles that have made their mark on Paraguayan rally history.

These true pieces of history will remain on exhibition, offering the public the opportunity to see and reconnect with machines that represent different eras of Paraguayan motorsport.

Figures like Édgar Molas and Héctor Omar Risso Risso, along with other motorsport personalities, will be present, reliving memorable moments from the sport's past. The CVAP's participation underscores a desire to celebrate the nation's motorsport heritage, honoring the vehicles, drivers, and stories that paved the way for Paraguay to host a global automotive event.
