Cleaning worker dies in hospital elevator shaft accident

A cleaning worker has died after a tragic accident at the Quang Ninh Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital in Vietnam. Nguyen Thi T., 64, was found at the bottom of a garbage elevator shaft on June 3. She was an employee of Hoan My Investment, Trade and Services Joint Stock Company, which provides cleaning services to the hospital.

According to initial reports from the Quang Ninh Department of Health, a supervisor noticed Ms. T. was unusually absent from her work station. A search was immediately launched, and she was discovered in the elevator shaft on the first floor of building D. She was unconscious and showed signs of severe trauma.

At the emergency room, medical staff determined that Ms. T. had no pulse or breathing. She had sustained numerous serious injuries, including to her forehead, eyes, lips, and jaw, along with bruising and injuries to her hands, knees, and ankles. Despite resuscitation efforts, she could not be saved.

The hospital has reported the incident to the local police and is cooperating with Ms. T.'s employer. They have also instructed the elevator maintenance company to inspect the entire technical system and have secured the scene for the investigation.
