Close ones still sensitively experience Gintaras Bendžius's loss: the world stopped

Fifteen months after the sudden death of his brother Gintaras, Mindaugas Bendžius shared a deeply emotional message on social media. "Today is exactly 15 months since the world suddenly, in an instant, stopped. And it will never be as it was," Mindaugas wrote, reflecting the profound and lasting impact of his brother's loss.

Their mother, Marija, responded to the post with her own heartfelt words: "And nothing will bring back what was, only warm and meaningful memories for the heart remain." This shared grief highlights the enduring pain and the cherished memories the family holds.

Mindaugas undertook a challenging yet meaningful journey to Norway to visit the exact location where his brother tragically died. He described walking the path Gintaras took in his final days. During his visit, he encountered warm and compassionate people who remembered Gintaras fondly and expressed sorrow over his fate. Mindaugas expressed deep gratitude to a friend who accompanied and supported him throughout this emotionally taxing pilgrimage.

He shared his experience on Facebook, calling it the "most meaningful journey of my life." The post garnered significant support, with many commenters offering words of strength and empathy. Musician Sandra Vaikšnorė called the journey "the most beautiful and meaningful every step you both took for Gintaras." Others expressed how moving the experience was, with one commenter saying, "If there is any portal, Gintaras is surely smiling seeing and feeling there, in that sky."

Gintaras Bendžius, along with his brother, was instrumental in shaping Lithuania's entertainment industry. In a past interview, Gintaras described their dynamic as complementary, with himself as a more phlegmatic individual and Mindaugas as a choleric one, allowing their tandem to function effectively since they began working together around 1993.
