Coalition: Houthi Statements an Attempt to Divert Attention Away from Violations Against Yemenis

The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen has accused Houthi militias of issuing statements as a tactic to distract from their ongoing violations against the Yemeni people. Major General Turki Al-Malki, the Coalition's official spokesperson, stated that these claims are an extension of the militia's escalations and hostile behavior, aimed at undermining regional and international security.

Al-Malki asserted that the Houthis are attempting to export the economic crises and suffering they have inflicted upon Yemen. He also suggested they are trying to conceal internal rejections from various tribal and social groups within Yemen by directing attention outward towards regional and neighboring countries.

The Coalition highlighted its efforts, alongside international partners, to alleviate the suffering caused by the Houthi coup. Furthermore, the Houthis are accused of obstructing peace efforts and attacking vital maritime trade routes in the Red Sea and Bab Al-Mandab Strait.

These actions, the Coalition warned, expose the Yemeni people to targeting and mass destruction, citing attacks on ports, an international airport, power stations, and industrial infrastructure. The Coalition issued a stern warning of a firm and "unprecedented force" response to any attempts to target Saudi Arabia, its citizens, residents, national assets, or to violate Yemen's sovereignty.

The Kingdom along with the Coalition and international partners have endeavored to undertake initiatives and efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people caused by the coup carried out by the Houthi militia, in addition to resolving the Yemeni crisis through a roadmap, which the legitimate Yemeni government approved, while the Houthis rejected.
