Colo-Colo Cited to Disciplinary Tribunal Over Referee's Superclásico Complaint

Colo-Colo faces a disciplinary hearing after referee Juan Lara filed a complaint following the recent Superclásico against Universidad de Chile. The Chilean football club has been summoned to appear before the First Chamber of the ANFP's Autonomous Disciplinary Tribunal.

The complaint specifically addresses incidents that occurred after the match, which Colo-Colo won 2-1. According to the referee's report, individuals from Colo-Colo's technical staff, who were not listed on the official lineup, entered the playing field. Additionally, defender Javier Méndez, who was also not registered for the game, entered the field after the final whistle.

These actions potentially violate the League's First Division Rules for 2026. These regulations stipulate that players not listed on the roster, directors, and club officials are prohibited from entering the field, tunnels, or exclusion zones unless they have explicit authorization. The rules also state that unauthorized individuals must not enter these areas until 15 minutes after the match concludes.

Violations of these regulations can result in fines of up to 100 UF (Unidad de Fomento), a Chilean inflation-indexed unit of account. The club also faces potential sanctions if a person associated with the institution breaches these rules. This disciplinary process for Colo-Colo is separate from another proceeding involving Javier Correa, who is also scheduled to appear before the tribunal on September 1st following a complaint filed by Universidad de Chile.
