Comedy Club 'Kamedi' Attacked with 'Feces Paint Bombs'; Accomplice Arrested

Taipei's well-known comedy club, 'Kamedi,' located on Fuxing North Road, was targeted by an assailant who threw homemade "feces paint bombs" on Thursday evening. The attack, which involved white paint mixed with feces, affected several staff members and audience members present at the time.

The incident occurred during a rehearsal for a show by renowned crosstalk comedian Huang Yihau. Approximately 30 people, including staff and performers, were inside the venue, along with about six audience members on the first floor. The suspect, described as a tall and robust man wearing a red baseball cap and mask, entered the premises, surveyed the area, and then proceeded to throw three "mixed bombs" – one on the lower ground floor, another on the first floor, and a final one at the glass door before fleeing.

The "mixed bombs" exploded, creating a mess on the floors, windows, and walls, and releasing a strong odor of feces. Despite the attack, the Kamedi club reported that its team showed great unity. They immediately began cleaning and reopened the venue in less than an hour, with both shows proceeding on time. The club stated that while they can accept criticism and dislike, they will not tolerate any form of violent threat.

Taipei's Zhongshan Precinct police responded to the report and began an investigation, collecting evidence and reviewing surveillance footage. They identified the suspect arrived and fled on a motorcycle driven by an accomplice, identified as Mr. Cai. Police apprehended Cai in New Taipei City's Xinzhuang District on Thursday night. Cai claimed he was unaware of the plan beforehand and only agreed to drive the main suspect, who requested the ride shortly before the attack.
