Communist Party rejects US Embassy drill in Caracas as sovereignty violation

Venezuela's Communist Party (PCV) has strongly rejected a recent evacuation drill conducted by the U.S. Embassy in Caracas, denouncing it as a "flagrant violation" of Venezuela's constitution, territory, and sovereignty. Yul Jabour, a former legislator and member of the PCV, criticized the presence of U.S. military aircraft and vessels during the exercise.

Jabour characterized the drill, which involved Boeing V-22 Osprey aircraft and naval vessels, as part of a "territorial dominance" strategy by the U.S. government. He dismissed the U.S. explanation of the drill as simple evacuation and rescue operations, asserting that Venezuelans are not easily deceived.

The U.S. Embassy had previously announced the drill on May 21, stating it was part of regular security and diplomatic protection protocols. They claimed the operation was coordinated with Venezuelan aeronautical authorities. However, pro-government figures, including National Assembly deputy Iris Varela, also voiced opposition, emphasizing Venezuelan resistance to foreign influence.
