Community funding for 'Hazajáró' series offers new model for patriotic media

A Hungarian media association has pointed to the successful community funding of the "Hazajáró" (The Wanderer) series as a potential new path for patriotic media creators.

The association emphasized that saving the series, which originally planned for 440 episodes and launched in 2011, is not just a victory for Dextramedia and the Hazajáró Association. They believe the unprecedented public support around "Hazajáró" can serve as a guiding light for patriotic content creators currently facing significant financial losses.

Previously, the organization focused on orienting smaller investors in right-leaning media and expanding job opportunities for staff from defunct media outlets. However, "Hazajáró's" success has prompted the association to recommend the community funding model to the industry. The statement noted that the renewal and survival of right-leaning media do not always have to rely on large media corporations streamlining their operations. It is important not only to consider the economic rescue of entire editorial teams and media workshops but also to ensure the survival of unique programs that can find their own place in the media market. The Hungarian National Media Association presented the community funding that secured "Hazajáró's" continuation as an exemplary success and a potential new direction for patriotic media outlets.
