Compal's AI Push: Server Cabinet Production in Thailand, New Product Lines Explored

Electronic manufacturer Compal is set to begin producing AI server cabinets in Thailand in the latter half of this year, aiming to integrate into Nvidia's AI server supply chain. The company is also expanding its focus to Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) for new product lines, including gaming consoles, satellite communications, and quantum computers.

The company's current AI server product line focuses on motherboards and 4U servers. In the second half of the year, it will begin producing server cabinets in Thailand.

Currently, Compal's AI server offerings primarily consist of motherboards and 4U servers. The expansion into server cabinet production in Thailand marks a significant step in its AI transformation. In the ODM sector, Compal is developing a next-generation gaming console for a U.S. startup, integrating communication and network technology. While the first generation was based on client design, the second generation will be led by Compal from conception to manufacturing.

Beyond gaming, Compal is leveraging its experience in low-orbit satellite communications to develop a multi-orbit integrated ground receiving system, covering antennas to routers, with plans to target the Southeast Asian market. The company has also invested in a quantum computing firm and is assisting in the design of related communication control modules, with potential for future joint investments in the quantum computing field.
