Conference League words from Ömer Ali Şahiner: 'We want to reach the group stage'

Başakşehir captain Ömer Ali Şahiner has voiced the team's ambition to qualify for the group stage of the UEFA Europa Conference League. Speaking at a press conference ahead of their match against Inter Turku, Şahiner emphasized the team's readiness and determination to succeed in the competition.

"We have prepared for this match, for this round, with a good training camp," Şahiner stated. "With the new players who have joined, we are now a complete team and ready. The Conference League is one of the most important stages for us to achieve our goals and dreams."

Şahiner highlighted that advancing in the Conference League is a primary objective. "We especially want to get through the Conference League qualifiers well starting tomorrow and reach the group stage. We want to take the biggest step towards that tomorrow. We hope it will be a good start for us. Our sole focus and greatest wish right now is to pass this round tomorrow, both in terms of score and performance. We will be 100% focused and ready on the field for that."

Additionally, Şahiner addressed the presence of club legend Edin Visca. "Edin and I played together for about 6 months before he left here. We have never lost touch since then. He is an extremely professional player with a high level of respect for his work. I believe Edin's presence always has a positive effect on the players. Important figures like Edin are very important and valuable for clubs like ours. We will try to benefit from his experience as much as possible. Unfortunately, he had a serious injury. I hope he returns to us soon because the experience of players like Edin is always impactful for the team, even when they are not playing. His quick return will be much better for all of us."
