Construction Begins at Disneyland Resort on New Transportation Hub With Thousands of Spaces for Buses and Cars

Disneyland Resort in California is set to commence construction on a new transportation and parking center in the fall of 2026. Located on the east side of the resort, the expansive facility will offer around 6,000 parking spaces and is designed to accommodate a variety of transportation methods.

The project includes a multi-level parking structure and dedicated zones for shuttle buses, ride-sharing services, and other mobility options. This infrastructure is a key component of Disneyland Resort's "DisneylandForward" initiative, which aims to support the complex's future growth and enhance the visitor experience. The new hub is strategically positioned on a portion of the current Manchester cast member parking lot.

Enhancements to visitor access are also part of the plan. A new pedestrian bridge over Harbor Boulevard will create a direct connection from the parking area to a revamped arrival plaza, offering a more seamless transition into the resort. This aims to improve pedestrian flow and safety, moving away from reliance solely on existing crossings.

Disneyland Resort stated that this new infrastructure marks the initial phase of its next expansion stage. The goal is to build the necessary capacity to welcome more visitors as new attractions and experiences, currently in development, become operational. The resort is also investing in improvements to pedestrian circulation, roadways, and intersections, including additional pedestrian bridges and bicycle lanes.
