Continue to deliver good governance in Osun, Obasanjo tells Adeleke

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has urged Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to persist in providing good governance to the state's residents. Obasanjo conveyed this message during a surprise congratulatory visit to Adeleke's residence in Ede on Sunday.

According to a statement released by the governor's spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Obasanjo, accompanied by Mr. Oyewole Fasawe, was welcomed by Governor Adeleke with dancing and praise songs, celebrating the election's successful outcome.

During the visit, the former president offered prayers for the governor's continued success and advised him to "continue on the path of good governance and delivery of dividends of democracy." Governor Adeleke expressed his surprise at the visit and thanked God, the people of Osun, and all democracy advocates for their role in his victory. The statement also noted that the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, joined Adeleke in receiving the elder statesman. Governor Adeleke was recently declared the winner of the governorship election, securing 511,067 votes against his opponent's 444,815 votes.
