Control system for truck overloading to be implemented soon

Algeria is set to implement a new system to control the overloading of heavy goods vehicles, a measure designed to protect its vital road infrastructure. The Ministry of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure recently held a coordination meeting with the National Gendarmerie Command to finalize the deployment of this control mechanism.

The primary objective of this initiative is to enforce axle load limits, thereby curbing the excessive weight carried by trucks. Overloaded vehicles are a major contributor to the rapid deterioration of roads, leading to increased maintenance costs and reduced lifespan of the infrastructure.

This coordinated effort between the public works ministry and the gendarmerie signifies a commitment to addressing the persistent problem of vehicle weight violations. The announcement indicates that the control device will be put into operation shortly, aiming to ensure greater compliance and preserve the integrity of Algeria's road network.
